Overview

This role is responsible for supporting the establishment and upkeep of a Quality Management System for a specific Area or Region, which includes the QC Plan, laboratory accreditation, and QC/QA project oversight while assisting technical personnel. This position necessitates advanced education and the regular application of discretion and judgment in evaluating and interpreting data before making informed recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a Quality Management System to ensure that construction and materials adhere to quality standards by evaluating and interpreting testing outcomes.
  • Assess laboratory programs and testing methodologies, providing suggestions to enhance state and national lab accreditation initiatives. Review and assess Technician and Inspector certification standards and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee technical personnel to guarantee adherence to quality protocols. Assess Technician and Inspector performance and support management in performance coaching. Review vendor performance, including services from third-party engineering firms.
  • Utilize substantial expertise during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases by collaborating with teams involved in materials, construction, sales, and estimating to ensure quality benchmarks and project profitability are met. Evaluate proposed actions for safety, contract adherence, and profitability, suggesting alternatives when necessary.
  • Assist in resolving customer service matters to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Support QC/QA initiatives by analyzing project data and communicating recommended actions, including the appropriateness of obtaining third-party verification of testing results. Further assist projects by interpreting internal and external requirements and preparing quality control plans. Assess project specifications and utilize quality control software to create tracking databases aimed at ensuring successful project completion.
  • Engage in and advocate for Granite's safety protocols to foster a secure working environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA and MSHA regulations.
Education/Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
Experience
  • Entry-level position.
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite and database management.
  • Self-driven and motivated.
  • Effective training capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of laboratory and field testing methods and equipment.
Physical Requirements

Benefits may differ for positions located outside the continental United States.

Salary Range:
$83,000 - $125,516.00
Compensation may vary based on relevant experience, skills, location, and education among other factors.
