About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our overnight team in our Emergency and Critical Care department.

As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Caring for a variety of cases in Emergency and Specialty Medicine
  • Prioritizing patient hourly treatments and delegating tasks
  • Triage critical patients, recognizing changes in patient status, and reporting to the doctor
  • Educating and updating owners on patient status and discharging patients from the hospital
  • Assessing hospitalized patients' needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case
  • Providing inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift
  • Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, and CRI's
  • Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, and free fluid
  • Placement and maintenance of nasogastric tubes, nasal cannulas, and central venous catheters
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
  • Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures

We offer a competitive hourly wage of $24.00 to $32.00, depending on skillset, experience, and licensure. We also provide an additional shift differential for swing and grave shifts.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting
  • 1 year of ECC experience preferred
  • RVT or VTS preferred but not required
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring
  • Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
  • Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
  • Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
