About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our overnight team at Vista Veterinary Specialists.

As a member of our Emergency and Critical Care department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with our veterinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Caring for a variety of cases, including emergency and specialty medicine
  • Prioritizing patient hourly treatments and delegating tasks
  • Triage critical patients, recognizing changes in patient status, and reporting to the doctor
  • Providing inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift
  • Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, and CRI's
  • Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Obtaining and processing laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, and free fluid
  • Placement and maintenance of nasogastric tube, nasal cannula, and central venous catheters
  • Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment
  • Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events
  • Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant who is passionate about providing the highest quality patient care.

A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required, with 1 year of ECC experience preferred.

RVT or VTS preferred but not required.

Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring, proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens, and working knowledge of radiographic techniques are required.

Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.

Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment, passion for providing the highest quality patient care, excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to deliver exceptional client service are expected.
