We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Research Analyst to join our team at the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in Ohio. As part of the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC), you will be working on complex studies and initiatives that drive war-winning capabilities for the United States Air Force.

Job Description

This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits. In this role, you will apply advanced analytical, mathematical, and statistical theories to plan, coordinate, and execute segments of complex studies. You will work under the guidance of senior analysts and participate in special initiatives and projects for the Logistics Directorate Studies & Analysis organization.

Requirements
  • You must be a U.S. citizen.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance as a condition of employment.
  • This position is designated as a Drug Testing Position.
  • You must have DAWIA certification.
  • This position has been designated as a Non-Critical Acquisition Position and is covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP).

The selectee must meet or be capable of achieving the APDP certification within the defined grace period. This position also requires the employee to engage in acquisition continuous learning activities and achieve 80 Continuous Learning points every 24 months.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited institution in operations research or mathematics, computer science, one of the physical sciences, engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline is highly desired.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
Skills and Qualifications
  • You should have professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices of operations research analysis to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems, processes, and operational problems and procedures.
  • You should have knowledge of mathematics and analysis to perform studies and prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate recommendations/conclusions clearly.
  • You should have knowledge of quantitative techniques and methods used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models to resolve problems or define and clarify alternative solutions.
  • You should have the ability to analyze, interpret, and apply operations research rules and procedures in a variety of situations and recommend solutions to senior analysts.
  • You should have the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors and fundamental relationships, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
  • You should have the ability to plan and organize work, and confer with co-workers effectively.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This federal job offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
