Senior Benefits Specialist Job Description

FC Industries Inc. is a leading metal manufacturer based in Dayton, Ohio, with 5 subsidiaries: AFC Tool, Dayton Precision Aerospace, BarSplice Products Inc., AFCS, and MC Coating.

We are seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to join our team, responsible for developing, implementing, and administering employee benefit programs. The ideal candidate will ensure that programs are cost-effective, meet employee needs, and comply with legal requirements.

The successful applicant will have excellent analytical skills, the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations. They will also possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on employee education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Design: Conduct research and analysis to recommend new benefit programs that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Program Implementation: Work with external vendors and brokers to understand local benefits practices and legal requirements, ensuring seamless program implementation.
  • Program Administration: Manage systems and technology supporting benefit plans, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Program Evaluation: Compare existing programs to peer organizations to determine competitiveness and suggest improvements.
  • Program Communication: Provide training and guidance to employees and management on benefit policy and provisions.
  • Program Budgeting: Develop and monitor the benefits budget, ensuring estimates and forecasts are accurate.
  • Program Compliance: Ensure programs comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration
  • Experience managing and negotiating with benefits vendors and brokers is an asset
  • CEBS Professional Certificate is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on employee education
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and benefits administration software
