Key Responsibilities- Specialty: Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Discipline: Allied Health Professional
- Work Schedule: Part-time, 28 hours per week, evening shifts
- Employment Type: Staff
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for external hires.
Essential Duties- Position and stabilize patients to ensure accurate imaging of anatomy or blood vessels.
- Independently select technical parameters to achieve high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Assist in advanced interventional procedures, including de-clotting of blood vessels and other vascular interventions, requiring in-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy.
- Collaborate with Interventional Radiologists and other specialists during procedures.
- Obtain and transmit radiographic images for interpretation.
- Participate in complex neurological interventional procedures, demonstrating a strong understanding of neurovascular anatomy.
- Set up and monitor patients on appropriate cardiac and other monitoring systems.
- Prepare patients in a sterile manner for procedures and maintain radiographic equipment.
- Support the radiologist during angiograms and special procedures, including the insertion of necessary devices.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to Universal Precautions.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, keeping them informed throughout the process.
- Ensure timely patient flow in the Interventional Radiology lab.
- Participate in departmental safety initiatives and maintain positive customer relations.
- Contribute to team problem-solving to enhance patient care and departmental operations.
- Provide relevant patient history and data to the radiologist to ensure quality care.
- Respond to emergency calls and maintain inventory supplies.
- Document all pertinent patient information for accurate billing.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and professionalism in all interactions.
- Graduated from an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology and ARRT registered.
- Ability to work with diverse patient age groups and provide age-appropriate care.
- Proficient in performing interventional radiology procedures with minimal supervision.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to manage various lifting requirements and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to participate in on-call programs and adjust to flexible work hours.
