Position Summary:
The Security Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the security communication systems, including the access control and surveillance systems. This role involves monitoring alarm systems and managing both emergency and non-emergency communications via telephone and radio. The Dispatcher ensures timely notification of the appropriate personnel and maintains accurate records and logs. This position is essential in fostering the desired Culture of Choice and the core philosophies of Parrish Medical Center.
Key Duties:
- Respond to all incoming calls for security services, both emergency and non-emergency.
- Dispatch the necessary response teams using various communication channels.
- Operate security communication equipment, including access control and CCTV systems, while executing all emergency codes.
- Maintain automated logs and reports, utilizing computer-aided dispatch software for record-keeping.
- Monitor and react to all alarm systems related to safety and security.
- Control and oversee Closed Circuit Television operations.
- Participate in required meetings and pursue professional development through training sessions.
- Utilize the overhead paging system to announce emergency codes and document Medical Alert Codes in the relevant systems.
- Provide communication support to the Emergency Operations Center and assist in the Hospital Emergency Incident Command System.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, ensuring knowledge of fire, disaster, and safety protocols relevant to the role.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- No prior experience is necessary.
- Welle Training (Behavioral Safety Management for Healthcare) is preferred.
