Quality Assurance Systems Specialist

Overview: A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Systems Specialist to enhance their quality engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the IATF 16949 quality framework and assist in maintaining the ISO 14001 system.
  • Oversee the internal audit process and support layered process evaluations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate customer and third-party audits.
  • Ensure that all business documentation is precise and comprehensive.
  • Lead root cause investigations for quality-related issues and implement necessary corrective measures.
  • Manage internal deviations and supervise document control activities.
  • Assist in compliance and documentation management related to ISO 14001.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality systems to team members.
  • Update operational instructions as required.
  • Support change management initiatives and drive strategic thinking in quality systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead related projects.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess strong communication skills and exceptional organizational abilities. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, capable of managing projects independently, and comfortable working collaboratively. A willingness to engage on the production floor when necessary is essential.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  2. 2-5 years of relevant experience in a quality systems engineering role.
  3. Experience in quality systems within an automotive supplier or OEM setting.
  4. Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality systems, either as a manager or contributor.
  5. Proficiency in formal problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.
  6. Understanding of critical characteristics in automotive manufacturing.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • IATF Lead Auditor Certification in IATF, ISO 14001, or VDA.
  • Experience with 8D and/or 5WHY problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with Minitab and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Strong customer communication skills.
