Job Summary

Tropicale Foods, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Quality Team, you will be responsible for directing quality assurance activities on the factory floor, maintaining a close rapport with production and other Quality team members to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Reports Management: Manage and oversee hold and complaint management programs, trend analysis, EMP program, RCA, CAPA, labor budget management, performance evaluation, hiring, discipline, coaching, training, and development, and termination recommendation.
  • Operational & Systematic tasks: Coordinate with production to monitor processes and procedures to ensure products are manufactured in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety Practices, and customer specifications. Ensure the execution and efficacy of key QA technicians' tasks, such as sampling and assessment of production samples, and propose improvement plans when gaps or improvement opportunities are discerned.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure customer/internal records are reviewed and submitted on a timely basis. Report and create corrective actions for deficiencies and missing data. Collaborate with other Quality sub-teams to manage release of finished products after proper record review. Administer the product hold, rework, return, and recall program.
  • Communication and Reporting: Utilize data analysis and develop metrics to bring visibility to current status and historical data for upper management. Collaborate with other Quality Team members or cross-functional team members to produce and distribute reports analyzing food safety and quality compliance trends, efficacy, and efficiency improvement, as well as cost-savings opportunities. Report routinely to management where unacceptable QA or Food Safety results or improvement recommendations have been identified.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related, food manufacturing experience. Supervisory of hourly employees preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to create SOPs from scratch, use Excel for data analysis, write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, effectively present information, and interpret technical instructions.
Language and Computer Skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
