Job Summary

Cone Health is seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to support the Coding Department in assigning standard diagnosis and procedure codes. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of medical coding in documents and patient files, evaluating billing and reimbursement documentation, and researching ineligible charges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign codes to charges per established departmental standards.
  • Evaluate billing and reimbursement documentation for accuracy and completion.
  • Research and resolve any ineligible charges for missing and/or incomplete data.
  • Determine whether patient files meet federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • EXPERIENCE: 2 years of experience in medical coding or a related field.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: Certified by the American Academy of Professional Coders or Alamance Regional Medical Center.
