Job Title: Medical Insurance Collections Specialist

CornerStone Staffing is seeking an experienced Medical Insurance Collections Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Insurance Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing reimbursement cases, addressing claim denials, filing appeals, and consistently following up with insurance companies to ensure payment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect from medical insurance companies with a focus on commercial insurance and managed care claims.
  • Handle medical denials and appeals, providing required documentation to resolve issues and secure claim payments from insurance companies.
  • Regularly follow up with medical insurance companies to expedite payments and reduce outstanding balances.
  • Work on self-pay and insurance accounts, including credit balance reviews and correspondence.
  • Utilize Meditech software for claims management and account maintenance.
  • Maintain open communication with internal teams, ensuring teamwork and independent productivity.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in hospital insurance collections (not physician office collections).
  • Expertise in commercial insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare claims, including denials and appeals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Prior experience with Meditech (preferred but not required).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must work well in a team and independently.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to prioritize and meet deadlines efficiently.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to provide proof of vaccinations including Tdap, flu, titers, etc. or be willing to complete and Employee Health screening for necessary vaccinations.
