Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Staff Supervisor to join our team at The Jackson Laboratory. As a key member of our Central Processing Operations team, you will be responsible for supervising the JW Cage Wash, Clean Supply, and Sterile Supply Areas, ensuring the timely and accurate distribution of supplies and materials to the Production Barriers and In Vivo laboratory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of 10-16 technicians in the JW Cage Wash, Clean Supply, and Sterile Supply Areas.
  • Assure the timely and accurate distribution of supplies and materials to the Production Barriers and In Vivo laboratory.
  • Perform quality control checks of sanitized supplies received and distributed.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training plans.
  • Conduct weekly QMI staff meetings and monthly one-on-one sessions with assigned staff.
  • Oversee the operation of heavy machinery, including tunnel washers, bottle washing machinery, rack washer, and sterilizers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety policy and procedures.
Requirements
  • Facilities experience directly related to duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Knowledge of sound safety procedures and policies, including working with corrosive chemicals and Materials Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
  • Knowledge of barrier area and clean room procedures, including sterilization and sanitation of equipment, physical property, and personal hygiene.
  • Knowledge of computer-based inventory control program, including ordering and ship and release of materials distributed to the Animal Care barriers.
  • Ability to operate computer hardware and software applications.
