About the Role:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership position at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, responsible for leading and directing all aspects of the firm's finance and accounting functions. The successful candidate will have a strong background in financial planning and analysis, with experience in leading teams and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement the firm's financial plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and direct the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of respect and communication, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Business Growth and Development: Identify and maximize revenue, profitability, and economic growth opportunities, working closely with the firm's Chair, Management and Finance Committee, and administrative leaders.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present financial reports, including financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, to the Management and Finance Committee and other stakeholders.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory agency rules and guidelines, and manage financial risks to protect the firm's assets.
- Strategic Planning and Advisory: Provide strategic advice to the firm's leadership on financial matters, including pricing, profitability, growth targets, and revenue goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement and innovation in finance and accounting functions, including billing and collections.
Requirements:
- Education and Experience: A CPA and an undergraduate degree in business, finance, or accounting are required, with an MBA or other advanced degree strongly preferred. Fifteen years of progressively responsible relevant financial and accounting experience, with five years of CFO-level experience or equivalent required.
- Skills and Qualifications: Strong business acumen, outstanding interpersonal skills, deep knowledge of general accounting procedures, experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, and experience leading teams.
