Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant

University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to join our team at the University of Toledo Medical Center. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will provide patient care for all available surgical specialties, whether ambulatory or hospitalized.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer anesthesia under the medical direction of a qualified Anesthesiologist, adjusting anesthetic levels as needed.
- Perform initial acute cardio-pulmonary resuscitation in life-threatening situations, as directed by a physician or protocol.
- Administer supportive therapy, including intravenous fluid and cardiovascular drugs.
- Establish multi-parameter monitoring of patients prior to, during, and after anesthesia or in other acute care situations.
- Manipulate and interpret data from central venous, pulmonary artery, and intra-cranial catheters, as indicated.
- Administer prescribed anesthetics, with attention to cardiovascular, respiratory, and metabolic health.
- Manage pre and post-anesthetic care, including ventilatory support of patients, as assigned by an Anesthesiologist.
- Utilize advanced treatment modalities to effect the prescribed anesthetic plan, as directed by the supervising Anesthesiologist.
Requirements:
- Completion of accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant training program.
- Certification by the NCCAA (National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants).
- Registered with the State Medical Board of Ohio as an Anesthesiologist Assistant.
- Active BLS Certification.
