Key Responsibilities- Collect patient history and document in the electronic medical record
- Acquire and prepare patient specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform vital signs, collect lab specimens, and administer medications as directed by clinicians
- Assist patients with completing forms and maintain timely patient flow
- Participate in patient check-out process, facilitating follow-up tests and referrals
- Prepare and clean exam/procedure rooms, setting up necessary supplies and equipment
- Collect and prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory
- Perform unit office procedures, including scanning, filing, and faxing
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or Medical Assistant certification from a Board-approved organization
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Medical Assistant certification and/or diploma required
- CA Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required upon hire
