Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Phlebotomist (Full-Time) to join our team at Tia Inc. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for performing routine clinical tasks to keep our clinic running smoothly. This includes lab services, ensuring all rooms are properly prepared throughout the day, managing supply inventory, and collecting & preparing blood and other samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing lab orders for URL and IRL one day in advance
  • Reconciling lab errors
  • Maintaining knowledge of Quest products, specimen processing requirements, and serving as the point of contact for the Quest account
  • Identifying patients and their personal information by reviewing their identity documents
  • Assessing patient needs, reviewing patient history, and determining the reason(s) for drawing blood
  • Selecting gauge needles and preparing veins or fingers for blood drawing
  • Extracting blood from patients through venipuncture or fingersticks
  • Analyzing blood specimens using the correct testing equipment, when necessary
  • Preparing specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to diagnostic notes
  • Keeping and maintaining records of patient names, volume of blood drawn, and diagnostic findings
  • Cleaning, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment used in the drawing and testing of blood specimens
  • Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Advanced training in Medical Assisting
  • MA Certification preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of healthcare lab experience as a phlebotomist or 2 years as a Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomist Certification (required only in CA)
