POSITION OVERVIEW
The role of the Forensic Psychologist involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at serving the needs of the criminal justice population:
- Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments of individuals in correctional facilities to evaluate their mental health requirements and post-release care needs.
- Utilize forensic psychological expertise to determine suitability for diversion programs and competency to stand trial.
- Regularly provide updates to the court and represent clients during hearings, offering expert testimony as necessary.
- Support treatment providers in understanding court requirements and legal standards relevant to specific cases.
- Act as a consultant for competency evaluations, assisting other mental health professionals.
- Facilitate communication between judicial officers and treatment providers to ensure a clear understanding of available services.
- Address legal inquiries from attorneys and mental health professionals regarding clients.
- Ensure timely submission of progress reports to the court in accordance with judicial orders.
- Incorporate legal stipulations into care planning to align treatment with judicial expectations.
- Collaborate with probation officers, law enforcement, and other partners to provide mental health training and support for clients with co-occurring disorders.
- Assess client responses to treatment, adjusting strategies as needed while involving clients in the decision-making process.
- Employ diverse therapeutic modalities, including psychotherapy and evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy.
- Review pertinent records from both the criminal justice and mental health systems to inform treatment recommendations.
- Retrieve necessary reports for court proceedings as required.
- Traditions Behavioral Health welcomes H1B and J1 Visa holders.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Annual salary range of $150,000 to $165,000 for full-time employees.
