Position Overview

This role is a part-time, hourly instructional position that typically requires a commitment of 6-8 hours per week. The programming runs throughout the academic year and includes a summer component.


The String Program Educator will instruct students in both small group settings (violin studio) and larger group formats (high string sectionals) comprising elementary and middle school participants.

The instructor will report directly to the Program Manager and collaborate with a team of educators dedicated to inspiring students while upholding the standards and mission of the organization.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will exemplify exceptional teaching skills, artistic talent, mentorship qualities, and serve as a role model for students. This is a part-time, hourly seasonal instructional role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct violin studio sessions and high string sectionals (violin/viola)

2. Support full orchestra rehearsals and large ensemble activities as required

3. Promote student empowerment with a focus on the comprehensive education of each child

4. Engage students through the creation of innovative lesson plans that encourage both social and musical development

5. Actively participate in faculty development sessions to help establish and implement shared values, innovative curriculum, and pedagogical approaches that support holistic child development

6. Continuously assess student progress to ensure effective learning outcomes.
