Job Summary

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine seeks a medical physicist for a faculty position with open rank and tenure status. The successful candidate will participate in all facets of radiation oncology physics clinical support and quality assurance at the primary center and satellite sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in radiation oncology physics clinical support and quality assurance at the primary center and satellite sites
  • Develop a clinically meaningful and scholarly rich research program for radiation oncology
  • Collaborate with faculty within the department and investigators across the Heersink School of Medicine, UAB, and peer academic departments
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in physics or a closely related field
  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Medical Physics or completion of an accredited residency and ABR board eligibility
  • Record of scholarly achievement
