Job Summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated pediatric cardiac critical care medicine specialist to join our team. As a faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, you will provide exceptional care to children in our state-of-the-art pediatric CVICU.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the CVICU, working closely with our multidisciplinary team of cardiovascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, cardiologists, and nurses.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement clinical and research programs in cardiac critical care.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and fellows in pediatric cardiology and critical care.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical and research protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Board eligibility in critical care/cardiology/NICU/anesthesia with additional 1-2 years of training or experience in cardiac critical care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong interest in scholarly activities and clinical/translational research.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
