Fufeng USA Incorporated is seeking a skilled Senior Engineering Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and oversee the design and construction of its manufacturing expansion initiatives in the United States. Position Summary

This pivotal role will collaborate closely with the Chief Operating Officer and the U.S. project expansion team, both domestically and internationally, to supervise facility design, manage third-party engineering consultants and contractors, and ensure the successful construction of manufacturing plants. The aim is to guarantee adherence to federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Main Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience in detailed engineering design, procurement, estimating, permitting, and construction of manufacturing facilities within the agro-industrial, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food, and specialty chemical sectors, particularly with capital expenditures exceeding $200 million. Preference for greenfield construction experience over plant line expansions.
  • Ensure alignment of project activities with objectives and available resources, providing recommendations as necessary.
  • Evaluate and authorize changes that significantly affect project scope, budget, or timeline.
  • Manage various engineering disciplines and construction trades effectively.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of complex designs.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against established plans.
  • Contribute to strategic decisions impacting the functional area of responsibility.
  • Resolve escalated operational issues requiring interdepartmental coordination.
  • Lead a cross-functional team to complete assigned projects on schedule, adhering to specifications with precision and efficiency.
  • Conduct risk assessments, report identified risks to management, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Address inquiries, concerns, and complaints throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as a liaison between the company and its vendors.
  • Collaborate effectively with all organizational levels, both on-site and remotely.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills for Success

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is mandatory; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 15-20 years of relevant managerial project experience in a manufacturing context is required.
  • Proven engineering experience in operations, project management, process design, and contractor oversight within a process-driven environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a solid understanding of engineering disciplines, plant operations, and construction.
  • Comfortable with a hands-on approach from both engineering and construction management perspectives.
  • Experience in formulating and executing plans that successfully meet predefined project objectives.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Robust supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including spreadsheets and project scheduling tools.
