The Quality Assurance Specialist for Suppliers (QASS) role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction concerning procured components.

This position encompasses various responsibilities including series oversight, containment assessments, component evaluations, issue analysis, production assistance, and quality reviews during pre-production to guarantee compliance and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Address manufacturing challenges through thorough monitoring and analysis of quality concerns, ensuring that both temporary and permanent solutions are executed to maintain process stability and mitigate future issues.
  • Conduct audits on products at the OEM production line, ensuring adherence to specifications and validating the manufacturing process and quality assurance.
  • Assess and approve manufacturing procedures and packaging related to the CKD logistics process, in alignment with corporate protocols.
  • Utilize methodologies such as DOE, Six Sigma, and Closed-Ended Problems (CEP) to investigate the root causes of quality complaints.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) to track project progress in meeting quality standards and process stability.
  • Develop action plans to implement necessary enhancements based on analytical outcomes.
  • Drive continuous product improvement through regular audits and series evaluations.
  • Suggest technical enhancements to products by assessing risks and opportunities to prevent quality issues by comparing similar components on the assembly line.
  • Generate KPM complaints and evaluate supplier 8D responses to resolve outstanding quality issues.
  • Provide support to production teams regarding quality-related matters associated with components.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong comprehension of quality systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with inspection techniques and statistical methodologies (e.g., DOE, Six Sigma, CEP, Fishbone, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a Tier 1 Supplier or OEM in a Supplier Quality Engineering capacity.
  • International experience is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to electronics, plastics, textiles, and metals.
  • Understanding of OEM systems.
  • Technical expertise in OEM specifications and drawings.
  • Proficiency in German and Spanish is a plus.

Environmental Requirements:

  • The role may require the employee to lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Regularly involves standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during shifts exceeding 8 hours.
