Job Summary

Canyon ISD is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide speech therapy services to students on assigned caseloads, conduct assessments and consultations, and participate in ARD/IEP committee meetings.

Responsibilities
  • Speech Therapy Services: Provide speech therapy services to students on assigned caseloads, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Assessments and Consultations: Conduct speech and language assessments and consultations in varied settings, including classrooms and therapy rooms.
  • ARD/IEP Meetings: Participate in ARD/IEP committee meetings for students needing speech therapy services, including developing therapy plans and interpreting test results.
  • Consultation and Education: Provide consultation and education to parents, caregivers, staff, and other professionals regarding speech and language disorders and/or speech therapy services.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain all required documentation, including progress notes, progress reports, and completion of evaluation reports.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with the latest developments in the profession and participate in professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or Higher: Master's degree or higher in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Disorders and valid TX license for Speech and Language Pathology granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC): ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of federal and state laws and guidelines related to speech and language therapy services, assessments, assessment procedures, and documentation of services provided.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and interface effectively with a wide variety of district personnel.
