Supervisor: General Counsel
Core Responsibilities: Deliver legal guidance and representation to the Texas Medical Association (TMA), its affiliates, and executive leadership.
Key Duties:
- Provide counsel on legislative, regulatory, and operational matters.
- Draft and evaluate contracts and legal documents.
- Assist with litigation processes.
- Analyze legislation and prepare proposals.
- Support the Public Affairs division.
- Monitor health care developments at both state and federal levels.
- Conduct legal reviews and provide updates.
- Deliver presentations at TMA events.
- Oversee departmental budget considerations.
- Contribute to the development of educational initiatives.
- Offer legal insights to physicians and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and Experience: Juris Doctor (JD), valid Texas law license, and 3-7 years of relevant legal experience, with a preference for a background in health law.
Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Supervision: Limited supervisory duties.
Independence: Ability to exercise independent judgment.
