ICU Liaison Job Description

We are seeking a skilled ICU Liaison to join our team at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. As an ICU Liaison, you will play a critical role in bridging the communication between our doctors and clients, ensuring seamless care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clear expectations to clients regarding their pet's stay, from presentation to discharge.
  • Maintain open communication with the front desk, technicians, emergency doctors, and primary veterinarian as needed.
  • Field and facilitate incoming phone calls for the doctor and provide a point of contact for pet owners and referring veterinarians.
  • Prepare patient progress reports, fill prescriptions as needed, and assist with owners visiting their hospitalized pets.
  • Manage medical records, reports, and log correspondence with clients.
  • Help guide clients through the euthanasia process, ensuring their needs are met before and after.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a veterinary facility or medical facility.
  • Medical terminology skills and knowledge of various procedures, medication names, and uses.
  • Strong attendance, punctuality, and time management.
  • Telephone and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
