Position Overview

The role of a Constituency Liaison Officer is vital in delivering services to the community within Victoria. Located in the Member of Parliament's constituency office, you will engage regularly with constituents, community groups, and various stakeholders. Your primary responsibilities may encompass:

According to Section 30 of the Parliamentary Administration Act 2005, Constituency Liaison Officers are prohibited from engaging in any party-specific activities. Such activities include any actions aimed at influencing electoral outcomes by promoting or opposing candidates or political parties.

Compensation and Employment Type

Salaries for Constituency Liaison Officers are outlined in the Electorate Officers (Victoria) Single Enterprise Agreement 2021.

Grade 2: $81,832 annually, plus employer superannuation contributions.

This position is a fixed-term, full-time role for a duration of 12 months, with a probationary period of six months.

Pre-Employment Requirements

All appointments are contingent upon the successful completion of a National Name (Police) Check and a Working with Children Check. Candidates who do not currently possess a Working with Children Check will be required to obtain one within three months of starting employment.

As part of the selection process, candidates may be asked to complete an online assessment to evaluate competencies or skills.
