Job Summary:

The Director of Patient Revenue Services will oversee various aspects of the revenue cycle, including customer service, surgical authorization, financial counseling, and payment posting. This role involves managing the Payment Posting Team, ensuring accurate and timely insurance and patient payment posting. The Director also oversees the Surgical Authorization Team, verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining timely authorizations for elective inpatient/outpatient surgeries. Additionally, the Director leads the Customer Service Team, responsible for patient billing inquiries, charity designation, and managing self-pay accounts.

Required Skills:

Education:

A degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field is required. A Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification from the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) or a similar revenue cycle certification is also preferred.

Work Experience and Additional Information:

Five to seven years of progressively responsible management experience working within a medical group billing department in a healthcare setting is required. An equivalent combination of education and years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of medical group organizations and revenue cycle management is essential. Strong background in CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding conventions is also required. Proficiency in healthcare IT systems related to patient access and revenue cycle management (Epic preferred) is necessary. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and patient rights, is also required. Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions are also essential.
