About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dishwasher to join our team at the Marriott Anchorage Downtown. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation in our food preparation and serving areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, tableware, and cooking utensils, and load them into the dish machine for cleaning.
  • Sort and stack clean dishes, and transport them to the cook's line and other designated storage areas.
  • Change the dishwater in the dish machine every hour to ensure optimal cleaning performance.
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand, and sanitize them to prevent the spread of bacteria and other microorganisms.
  • Remove trash and garbage from the dumpster, and ensure that the kitchen area remains clean and free of clutter.
  • Set up or break down the dishwashing area as needed, and maintain a safe and efficient workflow.
  • Clean and/or roll/unroll mats, and fill/empty tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
  • Weep/mop floors, and sweep up trash around the interior of the kitchen and garbage area.
  • Assemble/disassemble the dish machine, and notify the manager if the wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures.
  • Follow proper handwashing procedures to prevent the spread of bacteria and other microorganisms.
Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment, where you will be frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. You must be able to work effectively in a team environment, and be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling. You must be able to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds, and have specific vision abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
