We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Peer Support Specialist to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh. As a key member of our research team, you will play a vital role in conducting research assessments and procedures, recruiting and enrolling eligible participants in studies, and updating databases for registry assessments and clinical trial forms.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-person and telephone screenings and enrollments of patients for research studies, including communicating the study protocol, conducting verbal and written informed consent, and scheduling for research activities.
- Use motivational interviewing to connect with patients, offer harm reduction education, and provide supplies.
- Participate actively and collaboratively in team meetings and project planning sessions.
- Contribute to quality assurance checks and ongoing monitoring.
- Work with multiple team members to coordinate and track study purchases.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- No experience required, but a strong working knowledge of English is essential.
- Ability to work with computer hardware and software, communicate verbally and in writing, and use a phone.
