Job Title: ELO Enrichment Instructor

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a dedicated and passionate ELO Enrichment Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality educational programs to elementary school students.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic instructor to lead our Expanded Learning Opportunity (ELO) classes. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, providing direct leadership and instruction to program participants, and ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the Y360 curriculum and meet the needs of our students.
  • Provide direct instruction and guidance to program participants, promoting social-emotional learning and academic growth.
  • Lead group activities and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
  • Implement the provided Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of class attendance and participant progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and supervisors regarding participant performance.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 16 or older.
  • Six months or more of related experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience working with children and diverse populations.
  • Knowledge and skills in the area of agreed-upon instruction and related equipment setup.
  • Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training and other required training.
  • Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks.
