Role Summary: The individual in this role will support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations and driving sales performance while ensuring exceptional service to customers and donors. This position involves managing the processing of donations and collaborating with management to ensure effective staff training and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of donated items while adhering to established production systems.
    • Encourage teamwork among management to achieve store objectives.
    • Coach and develop the management team and oversee the training of store staff.
    • Address employee concerns and provide constructive feedback, including conducting performance evaluations.
    • Implement disciplinary measures in collaboration with the Area Manager and Human Resources.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Manage the store's overall operations, including tracking daily and weekly sales and donations.
    • Contribute to profitability by identifying opportunities to enhance sales and manage costs effectively.
    • Ensure accurate cash handling and reporting for all store transactions.
    • Organize store layout to facilitate excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
    • Maintain store appearance and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Uphold high standards of customer service and reinforce Goodwill's mission.
    • Handle various administrative tasks, including reporting transportation needs and managing store openings and closings.
Additional Duties
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.
  • Train staff on the processing and organization of donations.
  • Assist customers with their shopping needs and ensure a pleasant shopping experience.
  • Monitor and report any theft or loss prevention issues.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Advanced customer service skills and a commitment to workplace safety.
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer skills, including familiarity with Office programs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work a flexible schedule.
