Job Summary:

The Transitional Emergency Shelter Guest Host provides direct support to individuals temporarily housed in our Transitional Emergency Shelter. This role ensures a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support behavioral health treatment, recovery support, and prevention efforts by promoting alcohol and drug-free lifestyles, mental health promotion, and stigma reduction.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment at all times, performing regular perimeter and fire checks under the supervision of the TES Manager.
  • Connect guests with recovery-based supports, including self-help support, cultural events, educational opportunities, and other resources that promote personal growth.
  • Work collaboratively with the TES team to provide care for clients who demonstrate low engagement in the case management program.
  • Serve as a supportive resource for individuals inquiring or seeking behavioral health or substance abuse treatment.
  • Serve meals for guests and maintain a clean dining environment and community center.
  • Maintain documentation and appropriate logs as directed by the TES Manager.
  • Work an irregular work schedule, as needed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. A strong commitment to providing exceptional guest services and promoting recovery-based supports is essential.
