Job Description

Job Title: Scientist: Upstream Process Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist: Upstream Process Development to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our R&D group, you will be responsible for developing and optimizing upstream processes for viral production in mammalian cells.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize upstream processes for viral production in mammalian cells
  • Perform experiments to develop, optimize, and scale-up production processes
  • Prepare and review process development protocols, data analysis summaries, technical reports, and other relevant process documentation
  • Support management by identifying quality problems and recommending solutions

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture
  • Experience with aseptic technique
  • Experience with bioreactors
  • Hands-on experience with CHO or HEK cells
  • Hands-on experience with AAV/adeno/lenti viral vectors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, interpersonal)
  • Ability to draft protocols and technical reports

Work Environment:

This will primarily be a lab-based position working with both the R&D group and manufacturing.
