Overview: The research team at the Lemole Center for Integrated Lymphatics Research at Temple University, led by Dr. Xiaolei Liu, focuses on the exploration of lymphatic development and functionality in both health and disease contexts, utilizing mouse models and in vitro systems. The primary aim is to elucidate the paracrine signaling mechanisms from lymphatic vessels that influence cardiac development and facilitate cardiac repair.

Key Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Scientist, you will:

  • Provide essential technical support by conducting scientific experiments within the laboratory environment.
  • Engage in experiments or smaller research initiatives that necessitate advanced expertise in specific scientific domains.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of experimental data and may assist in mentoring graduate and medical students in research methodologies.
  • Support Principal Investigator and laboratory members with fundamental laboratory tasks, including but not limited to PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
  • Oversee the maintenance of mouse colonies and manage laboratory supply orders.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences coupled with a minimum of two years of pertinent experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be taken into account.

Essential Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven research experience in molecular/cell biology, vascular biology, developmental biology, or related fields.
  • Expertise in developmental biology, cell biology, imaging techniques, and mouse model applications is highly regarded.
  • The ability to work effectively under supervision and collaboratively within a research team.
