Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled NLP Research Scientist to join our team at NBME. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for applying advanced technical and analytical skills to the development of novel assessments of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute research programs aligned with NBME's research agenda, focusing on the development of novel assessments and the adaptation of scientific methods from Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning and data science to measurement.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of data scientists, measurement scientists, software developers, marketing experts, business developers, and other stakeholders to drive innovation and excellence in assessment development.
  • Contribute to the scientific community through publications and presentations at top-tier venues in Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning, computer science, and measurement science.
Requirements
  • Background or work experience in natural language processing, machine learning, data science, and/or computer science.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages.
  • Experience in conducting research studies and publishing findings at top-tier conferences and journals in NLP or related fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to work closely and successfully with individuals from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds.
Education
  • PhD in Natural Language Processing/computational linguistics, computer science, clinical informatics, or a related discipline, or a master's degree and 5+ years of experience in applied Natural Language Processing/Machine Learning research with a proven track record of contributions to research initiatives.
