Senior Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes project financial data to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company policies.
- Audits project accounting systems to monitor department general ledger accounts, project budgets, invoicing, payables, receivables, and other related financial information.
- Advises management on financial performance of projects and provides detailed analysis and reporting on project status within an established system of project controls.
- Conducts accurate contract documentation, administration, and maintenance, including fee and budget entry.
- Works with section and project personnel to provide timely contract performance data and resolves financial issues.
- Provides support to the technical project management team in project management activities.
- Teams with technical staff, project leads, and managers to make recommendations to influence key decision-makers within the scope of project controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 4 years experience within the Accounting/Finance function.
- Experience working within an ERP system and JD Edwards.
- 4+ years of project accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and SOX compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Self-starter who can work independently while supporting the needs of the team.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.
- Effective time management skills: ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to accommodate up to 10% travel time.
