Senior Tax Professional

Veolia North America is seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Professional to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for supporting the Tax Director and Sr. Tax Manager on all aspects of domestic income tax provision, compliance, financial and regulatory reporting, and financial planning and analysis for VNA's regulated utility business.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the monthly close process through preparation of the Company's GAAP and IFRS income tax provision and recording of journal entries and other related schedules and analyses.
- Support federal and state income tax compliance and provision process.
- Prepare and support the Company's tax provision and related disclosures for annual GAAP and IFRS financial statement audits.
- Manage the Company's sales and use tax compliance process by working closely with internal and external resources.
- Facilitate the sales and use tax process through utilizing the Company's sales and use tax engine (ONESOURCE IDT).
- Research sales and use tax issues and respond to internal inquiries regarding taxability of vendors, including providing exemption certificates.
- Interpret and comply with federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and legislation.
- Prepare for and assist with income tax and/or sales and use tax audits.
- Prepare account reconciliations of tax general ledger accounts, including the use of Blackline.
- Assist with implementing process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other four-year degree with equivalent accounting experience.
- CPA, MBA, or Master's in Tax with accounting experience (or equivalent) preferred.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Minimum of two to five years of accounting and/or corporate tax experience.
- Good analytical skills, detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Some experience with process improvement, change management, and/or optimization of various tax processes.
