Job Summary

Focused Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. As an Instructional Specialist for Students with Disabilities, you will play a critical role in providing instructional services to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Child Study Team (CST) to ensure the provision of appropriate student services.
  • Establish a safe and conducive learning environment that promotes academic growth and social development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians to ensure a collaborative approach to student support.
  • Assess and evaluate student performance, behavior, and social development to inform instruction and make data-driven decisions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and motivate students, including the use of technology and multimedia resources.
  • Work with paraprofessionals to deliver instruction and support students with varying needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and implement evidence-based strategies to improve student outcomes.
Requirements
  • NJ Teacher of the Handicapped Certification or Teacher of Students With Disabilities Certification (Standard, CEAS, CE)
  • Secondary Content Certification or Middle School Endorsement
  • Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)
  • Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians and colleagues
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience
  • Familiarity with the Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching
