Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Central Ohio. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and effective group fitness classes that promote healthy living and social responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver group fitness classes that meet the needs and goals of our members
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with members and staff
  • Provide exceptional customer service and promote programs and services
  • Maintain valid national certification in group fitness and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
  • Record accurate class attendance and maintain a minimum of 60% target attendance
  • Participate in community outreach and share announcements as directed by supervisor
  • Follow YMCA policies and procedures and respond to emergency situations
Requirements
  • Passionate belief in the Y's cause of nurturing the potential of all youth and supporting healthy living for all people
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Current NCCA Group Fitness Certification (ACE, NETA, or AFAA) or Specialty/Trademarked Certification upon hire
  • Outgoing personality with a natural ability to build positive and trusting relationships
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to promote programs and services
  • Demonstrates a professional demeanor, enthusiastic and supportive attitude, and genuine commitment to providing quality service
  • Willing to work flexible work hours based on evolving needs of the members, class coverage, and schedule adjustments
