We are seeking a skilled Chemical Operator to join our Manufacturing Group in Newport. As a Chemical Operator, you will be responsible for operating production and testing equipment, following specifications and procedures to produce high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities- Operate automatic and manual chemical process equipment of varying complexity in accordance with operating procedures.
- Follow specifications, job orders, work instructions, recipes, and procedures to produce specific products according to our ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality system.
- Perform complex liquid/chemical batch manufacturing, maintaining a familiarity with a variety of production machines.
- Ability to work in C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction.
- Monitor and control process variables, such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
- Route product samples for quality control inspection according to procedure.
- Complete preventive maintenance on a regular, timely basis.
- Handle first-line troubleshooting such as equipment malfunctions, computer program issues, setting adjustments; involving appropriate other experts as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of Industrial Manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience with C1D1 and C1D2 Explosion Proof environments, particularly within the context of hazardous material handling and solvent extraction.
- Good written skills, proficient computer skills, and ability to work with MS Office tools.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects.
- Continuous standing in one location for long periods (2-3 hours before break).
- Flexibility to work in shifts and handle occasional overtime as needed.
