Job Overview

McFabco Graham Steel Fabrication Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced lead fitter/fabricator to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for overseeing the fabrication of structural steel components, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the fabrication of structural steel components, including beams, columns, canopies, stairs, embeds, and handrails.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Lead a team of fitters and fabricators, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
  • Develop and implement efficient fabrication processes, minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform layout and fitting of steel components with high accuracy.
  • Conduct multi-pass structural welds and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Understand and comply with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Work effectively with other welders and fitters to achieve project goals.
  • Operate a range of ironworking tools and equipment, including oxy-fuel torches, plasma cutters, grinders, bandsaws, and overhead cranes.
  • Be available to work a standard 5-day week, 6am-2:30pm, with occasional overtime.
  • Have reliable transportation to the Seattle area.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a fitter/fabricator, with a strong background in structural steel fabrication.
  • WABO D1.1 FCAW certification.
  • WABO D1.1 GMAW certification (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to read and comprehend steel fabrication drawings.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in ironworking tools and equipment.
  • Reliable transportation to the Seattle area.
