Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) discipline within the designated region.
- Make critical staffing decisions, including key hires, to align with the company's strategic vision.
- Accountable for the SUE business performance metrics in the region.
- Facilitate the recruitment of new talent and the retention of high-performing team members to cultivate a robust and innovative operations team.
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to develop and implement a long-term strategic plan that incorporates diverse stakeholder input.
- Drive strategic initiatives related to marketing, partnerships, and other growth opportunities to enhance the region's impact and the company's overall success.
- Inspire and lead large teams, both in-person and remotely, while fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to achieve all organizational objectives within the region.
- Select, train, and mentor personnel across various levels of the organization.
- Establish performance metrics and goals, providing support to discipline managers to ensure positive outcomes.
- Analyze budgetary needs and allocate resources effectively.
- Collaborate with different departments to enhance industry-specific capabilities in future service offerings.
- Monitor and evaluate operational metrics and KPIs to inform strategic decision-making for the region and discipline.
- Partner with the executive leadership team to refine organizational structure as needed.
- Adapt to the company's growth across various segments and geographical areas, as well as evolving customer demands.
- Work alongside discipline managers to define optimal performance indicators and programs essential for field success.
- Streamline and enhance processes within business units for greater efficiency.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years in a Director-level SUE role or equivalent.
- Hold at least 10 years of experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering, complemented by a relevant four-year degree.
- PE License is preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel and stay overnight based on project needs.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Preparedness to work in adverse weather conditions, on-call, and during extended hours as necessary.
