The firm is currently looking for a Structural Bridge Specialist. This position plays a crucial technical role in both conventional and alternative delivery bridge projects. Candidates should have experience in supervising and executing design calculations and reports, overseeing the preparation of project drawings, and managing assignments of varying complexity and scope.
Responsibilities:
Management:
- Supervises the development of design concepts and reports.
- Collaborates with clients, including state, county, city, and municipal agencies, as well as design/build contractors.
Production:
- Prepares detailed engineering reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings for structural (bridge) design projects.
- Conducts structural design for transportation structures such as bridges, tunnels, and retaining walls.
- Leads construction engineering support efforts on designated projects.
- Participates in key technical roles for local and major bridge projects.
- Reviews and checks design calculations and reports for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of project drawings.
- Guarantees timely delivery of quality work products and services.
- Leads and/or participates in in-depth study projects.
- Coordinates and oversees technical approvals.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
Business Development:
- Assists in public presentations on technical/design issues.
- Engages in business development activities for clients and agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of structural design experience in bridges and related transportation structures.
- Advanced knowledge of structural design and analysis software, including SAP2000, CSI Bridge, VBridge, and LEAP Bridge, as well as proficiency in Excel and Mathcad.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required.
- Strong technical skills and a client-focused approach.
- Commitment to innovation and ethical practices.
- Experience collaborating in diverse and inclusive teams.
