Job Overview

Blew & Associates, P.A. is a renowned national firm with over 130 years of experience in land surveying, engineering, and environmental services. We are seeking a skilled Professional Land Surveyor to lead our team.

The ideal candidate will oversee and manage survey technicians, perform boundary, easement, deed, and title reviews, and conduct detailed research at the local, county, and state levels. They will also be responsible for evaluating surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and determine the best approach to complete projects on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of acquiring new clients and generating new revenue. They will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to lead and grow a team. Experience using AutoCAD and/or Carlson Survey is required, and proficiency with Quickbase to log job statuses is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage survey technicians
  • Perform boundary, easement, deed, and title reviews
  • Conduct detailed research at local, county, and state levels
  • Evaluate surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials
  • Identify potential project constraints and determine the best approach
  • Communicate with crew chiefs and operations team on a daily basis
  • Collaborate with drafting managers, design staff, and operations team

Requirements:

  • A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of New York is required
  • Field and office experience in land surveying is essential
  • A proven track record of acquiring new clients and generating new revenue
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven track record of leading and growing a team
  • Self-motivation, drive, and the ability to work remotely
  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or Carlson Survey is required
  • Proficiency with Quickbase to log job statuses is a plus
