Job Summary

The Transportation Surveyor Professional will be responsible for performing all phases of field surveying, including construction stakeout, topographical surveys, and other related tasks. This role will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

The Transportation Surveyor Professional will have the following responsibilities:

  • Perform all phases of field surveying, including construction stakeout and topographical surveys.
  • Conduct field calculations and sketches.
  • Download and check data.
  • Maintain and take care of all company equipment and vehicles.
  • Ensure setup is in a secure environment with proper safety precautions in place.
  • Represent the department professionally and communicate effectively with upper management and co-workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have the following qualifications:

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in surveying, surveying engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a similar surveying-related major.
  • Two years of full-time satisfactory land surveying experience.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver's license in the State of New York.

Desired Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Experience working with MicroStation CAD software.
  • Knowledge of track geometry and layouts.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $81,235 and $102,306 per year, depending on experience. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
