Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to service requests from the Service Resource Center, including initial assessments of equipment/system issues.
- Engage with customer representatives to identify and clarify equipment/system malfunctions.
- Diagnose and execute repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at client locations.
- Adhere to established troubleshooting protocols and consult technical documentation to facilitate repairs.
- Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining clear communication with district staff and clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Complete Service Acknowledgements accurately using communication devices, such as smartphones and laptops.
- Secure customer signatures upon the completion of service assignments.
- Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation and assist in training or mentoring team members.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
- A minimum of 5 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
- NICET Level II Certification
- Valid Fire Alarm License.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational manuals, along with knowledge of testing equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50-70 lbs.
- Willingness to work in challenging positions, such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, to meet client needs.
- Potential for overnight travel.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Maintain inventory on service vehicles to ensure prompt responses to customer requests.
- Adherence to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
- Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a quick learning ability.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a driving record that complies with company standards.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Maintain any licenses required by National, State, and Local regulations.
- Completion of SimplexGrinnell 4120 Network training within 12 months.
