Key Responsibilities:

  • Menu Development: Work alongside the Food Programs Coordinator to design balanced and diverse menus that utilize fresh, seasonal ingredients.
  • Food Hygiene: Maintain a tidy and organized kitchen, following all food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Stock Management: Monitor food inventory levels, assist with supply orders, and ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
  • Meal Service: Serve meals to residents in a respectful and friendly manner, promoting a welcoming and supportive dining atmosphere.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with shelter staff and volunteers to ensure efficient meal service and address any dietary concerns.

What We Seek:

  • Prior experience as a chef in a commercial kitchen or similar setting is preferred.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

The Emergency Shelter accommodates up to 20 individuals, with designated rooms for single men, women, and families. The facility also includes our Family Services programs and Food Pantry/Breadline.
