Role Summary:
The Senior Cardiac Ultrasound Specialist plays a crucial role in our echocardiography laboratory. Under the guidance of laboratory leadership, this position is responsible for the proficient acquisition of both standard and intricate congenital cardiac ultrasound examinations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Expertise in Cardiac Imaging:**
- Conduct comprehensive cardiac ultrasound studies on patients of varying ages across diverse clinical settings.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of congenital heart defects, cardiac conditions, and relevant imaging techniques.

2. **Patient Interaction:**
- Establish a welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families, ensuring clear communication regarding the examination process.
- Guide patients throughout the procedure, addressing any concerns and providing support.

3. **Technical Proficiency:**
- Utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians to review echocardiographic findings and obtain additional images as necessary.

4. **Quality Assurance:**
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed and ensure the functionality of ultrasound equipment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and assist in training echocardiography learners.

Qualifications:
- **Education:** Relevant certification and licensure are required.
- **Experience:** A minimum of two years of direct experience in cardiac sonography is preferred.
- **Certifications:** Must hold certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardio Credentialing International (CCI).
