Job Overview

Position: Shift Supervisor

Reports To: Social Development Director

This is a full-time, exempt role responsible for overseeing the operations of the residential living environment. The Shift Supervisor will lead a team of Senior Residential and Residential Advisors, ensuring a supportive and effective atmosphere for youth development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and promote the core values and operational principles of Covenant Learning Solutions LLC.
  • Manage and assess living conditions within the dormitory, making informed decisions to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Handle administrative tasks including student evaluations, progress tracking, and emergency protocols.
  • Facilitate student adjustment to center life, guiding them in behavioral modifications that enhance their social skills and employability.
  • Engage with families to address concerns and ensure the well-being of students.
  • Organize and oversee recreational and social activities that contribute to student development.
  • Ensure adequate staffing through effective scheduling and training of residential staff.
  • Act as a communication bridge between supervisory staff and residential advisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the dormitory for inspections.
  • Coordinate student government activities and support counseling visits as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of career preparation programs.
  • Implement behavioral management strategies, adhering to established policies.
  • Document significant events and maintain accountability of students during shifts.
  • Provide cafeteria oversight and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Supervise career preparation activities, ensuring a structured schedule of events.
  • Train student leaders to support their peers in adapting to center life.
  • Conduct group training sessions focused on life skills and employability.
  • Deliver regular progress reports for students during their initial adjustment period.
  • Foster a respectful and harassment-free environment for all staff and students.
  • Model and communicate essential employability skills, including personal responsibility.
  • Promote positive social interactions through appropriate behavior modeling.
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices and maintain accountability for all resources.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or two years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in dormitory management or working with at-risk youth is advantageous.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must complete all required training and possess a valid driver's license.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of counseling techniques and ability to connect with youth.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Familiarity with educational and vocational training programs.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both staff and students.
