Pharmacy Technician Job Summary

This part-time pharmacy technician role is available at Methodist Hospital Northlake in Gary, Indiana. As a pharmacy technician, you will assist in various inpatient pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include interpreting, entering, preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications, while maintaining excellent customer service with patients at the counter and via telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in inpatient pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Interpret, enter, prepare, dispense, and distribute medications
  • Maintain excellent customer service with patients
  • Assist with purchasing medications for the pharmacy and restocking pharmacy shelves
  • Perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
  • IN Licensure/Registration/Certification requirements
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office
  • Effective communications skills, verbal and written
